South African Embassy in Russia
If you are a Russian considering a visit to South Africa, you will need to contact the South African Embassy in Russia in order to get the proper documentation in order before you start packing for your trip. Whether you plan to visit the country for holiday, business or transit purposes, you will need to get a suitable visa in order to be allowed through customs at the international airports in South Africa.
There are several different things you will need to do in order to get your visa processed. For starters you will have to remember that all documentation must be submitted in English – even if the original documents are in Russian. You will also have to ensure that you fill in the application form in black ink only – other pen colors are not accepted. The time period over which an application is considered and processed may take ten working days and this should definitely be factored in when making travel arrangements. Applicants will have to submit a passport photograph, a valid passport with two blank pages, a complete application form in English, a statement or document stating the nature of the visit, a copy of an ID document, confirmation of employment and proof of financial means, a visa processing fee, proof of flight bookings and a vaccination certificate. Those traveling with minors will also have to submit a birth certificate while unaccompanied minors will have to have a Public Notary of consent.
Visitors to the country may also apply for visas based on participation in a sporting event, training purposes, specialized research, the use of specialized skills, medical purposes and for an intended marriage. If you wish to obtain a visa for these purposes, you should contact the branch and inform them of this before attempting to apply for your visa as this will affect your visa application.
