Mr. Michal_PL, another factor in Russia today is the amount of de-industrialization that occurred in 1996-98 years, if a National Government were to achieve victory in 08' then a new set of five year plans would ensue. Russia is not ready for another war, yet.
Land posted above will eventually have to be re-counquered, same with east Ukraine, Trans-Dniester, North Kazakhstan, and of course Byelorussia, but they will join voluntarily.
