Here is a story that happened in april 1940 (Operation Weserübung) wich i particulary liked. A state of the art, german heavycruiser Blücher (finished in 1939 i think) was on it's way to Oslo. Onboard, a special SS team that was suppose to "take care" of the norwegian royal family and it's supporters. On it's way to Oslo, it had to pass couple of narrow paths in fjords. One of those paths was guarded by two 230mm cannons (by the way, german build) from 1890. Gun crew surprized the german captain and was able to score several direct hits as the german navy didn't expect much resistance and had put they guard down. After a short time, the cruiser capsized drowning most of the people on board including this SS crack team. Something over 1200 people drowned as the water was steel freezing cold thus allowing norwegian royalties to be evacuated to England.
