A rebuttal of "FireFox Myths Exposed"

Which is better? You decide. Either way, MS's IE is still the number one choice for many. Despite its flaws.

By all means, spread those links around. Make sure you let everyone know that Firefox is owned by AOL (i.e. the devil) too.

Sure, Firefox is an OK browser, it is really the community I don't like. All this talk about how I'm an "uneducated" internet user, I mean, how pretentious and annoying can people be?

When IE7 comes out it's going to stomp all over Firefox. I can't wait!

Firefox pretty much works, but it's not my favorite browser. Win IE just plain sucks eggs. I only use IE on a computer belonging to someone else. It just isn't welcome in my house. I use Firefox quite often, as it is included as the standard browser on so many operating systems. Konquerer rates as a very worthy browser/file manager for Linux users, but Opera is by far my all time favorite browser.

Opera is available for FREE, and for every major OS. The latest version is simply the best browser (overall) on the planet. Even among my Win 2k and Win XP stalwart friends, once they were introduced to Opera, and spent a few passes on the Opera website tutorials, they couldn't get far enough away from IE to be comfortable on their old PC's.

Firefox is pretty much OK, no matter what the IE crowd has to say about it, especially compared to IE. Using IE might be compared to swimming in sewage (you never know what you might catch), and no matter how hardcore a Microsoft fan you might be, there is no excuse for such an old browser to be so vulnerable to outside attack for so many years. IE is simply trash.

Opera is the gilded lilly of the browser community today. They built their market from scratch, and now offer their product for free. Even if Bill Gates is your personal sugar daddy, you should try Opera. It's simply the best browser on Earth.

You can find it at www.opera.com or google for it.

Well, I can't recall sending AOL any money during my life, but to read a post that calls AOL the devil, and in the next sentence promotes the next garbage browser from Microsoft sure did give me a belly laugh that topped the Richter scale.

That was funny. Kind of like the real devil condemning his tail as being the devil.......

To be fair, I can understand why people embrace Microsoft as their cyber-god, since Microsoft managed to built the ultimate modern monopoly before anyone even noticed. AOL, on the other hand, is a total mystery to me. AOL offers nothing at all, but a few worthless proprietary hooks, yet it continues to trick millions of people to pay a premium above their regular broadband charges every year. How does AOL do that? It must cost millions of Dollars to send out all of those coaster disks every year. Maybe P. T. Barnum was right. There is a sucker born every minute.

What can I say? God bless AOL for continuing to convince the daily lineup of suckers that their internet portal is worth the money. Then again, even if AOL does own Firefox, it is licensed under the GPL, and AOL cannot insert proprietary code, ads, or other BS along the way without changing the license, and making it clear to all. Just use Opera, and avoid the problem.....

They are all just browsers. You look at stuff on the internet with them.

The internet experience comes from the websites you visit, not the browser. All this hype from "alternative" browser boosters, you'd think you were comparing sports cars or something, but in the end they all do the same thing.

Personally, I'm a minimalist, so IE6 works great for me. I tried the whole tab thing, didn't like it. I already have tabs, they are on the task bar. I'm a laptop user, so having to accurately point to a little tab with my mouse literally adds 1/10ths of a second to my efficiency. I know it may sound silly, but I like to push the cursor all the way to the bottom of the screen without having to worry about where to stop.

If it sounds strange, keep in mind I am the kind of person who is usually ahead of the programs I use. For example, if a program is a little slow performing a function, I will have my mouse already waiting on the spot where I know I will need to click, even before the program has loaded the button. So having to click on tabs accurately really annoys me.

I have already downloaded IE7 beta 3. It is ok. They need to work on toolbars more, as they are, they aren't very user configurable. The tabs look a little cartoonish for my taste, although I just turn them off anyway, as already explained.
