Stable economy demands a stable world. American economy has an influence on all economies of the world. I dislike it but that does not change the facts. I prefer to have a good life in a stable world rather than a bad life in a chaotic world. Even if it means to be ruled by the USA.
I suspect you dream too much of the former power of the USSR.

They are angry because it are the USA and not RUssia, (or France, or Germany) that wins the war and will take advantages of it.

Journalists choose to stay there. For what, for informing the world or to make sensational pics, money and become famous?
Idealism or opportunism?
My father was journalist too, he choose to stay in the country and to film celebrations, traffic accidents etc. He did not become rich, not famous but he died peacefully in his bed at the age of 84. He was not a couragous man, he was wiser.
