There is a saying you know:
there is lie, big lie and there is statistics.

I plan to post some statistics on some of Russian events (and discuss it if you are interested) here. Hope to be able to update it here regularily.

Most of the non-Russian media sources place only some 'chosen' data. So, maybe this thread can be helpful for you.

Best regards.

thanks for these interesting stats! What's the source for the "Economy" figures, by the way - A&F?

Oh, and by the way, the original quotation was "Nothing but lies, damn lies, and statistics!", and was first said by Benjamin Disraeli, British PM in the C19th.

Hi Dr.W!

Thanks for the correction!

No, not A&F (frankly speaking I never read it).
Mainly 'Vlastj', 'Denjgi' and 'Expert'

statistics

Hello Ilay,
Thanks for the statistics. It is good to know that the bean counters feel Russia is well.
The whole world economy is a mystery. In my life time I have seen so many jobs disapper and always new ones sprang up to replace them. I think the good world economy is something new in history and everyone is trying to keep the ball rolling.
In 1956 I read an article on technology and they compared it to an airline flight. Someone asked the pilot where they were going and the pilot replied, "I didn't know where we are going but we are getting there in one hell of a hurry."
