If women ran things? Lilly, I really respect your opinions (they come from such a beautiful package, by the way) but if I am not mistaken weren't Margret Thatcher, Golda Meir(sp), Indira Ghandi all women leaders, and not one is know for their peace efforts. Also, the last two also started wars (and finished them). Except for the ancient Greek women who ended a war by withholding sexual favors, I can see no difference in peaceful intentions.

Also for an interesting side note, during the draft riots in the US during the American Civil War, it is on record that the women were by far the most vicious rioters. Even after a victim was dead, women would remain over the body, defacing and mutilating it. Please do not read anything into this, other than guys, don't get them mad!

Chase Darling,
You conveniently overlooked Madelyn Albright and her push to bomb Yugoslavia. The few women in history doesn't come close.

Re: Ancient Greek Women: Their ploy of witholding sex to stop war didn't work.

The "end" result was the availability of young Greek boys skilled in the amatorial arts. <wink>

I can hear the dulcet notes of the lyre in the distance.....
Sweetly,

1st of all, this isn't Cat...~grin~ it's her baby girl fate.......so don't blame her for anything i say ~wicked evil grin~

anyway...about this whole russian/chinese friendship....in my eyes....who cares??

what with the fact that we will all be killed by planes falling from the sky on new years, it really won't matter if they decide to send 10 billion men after us....
~weg~

on that note.....try to relax a little..go with the flow...and don't be too paranoid...the little green men are about 10 light years away......

~waving as she runs from the room before she get's shot~

Greetings,
I have first hand knowledge about Russian
weapons. The Russians entered my home town in Hungary in 1945 without any opposition. Germans were long gone. One T-34 tank was followed by 50 or more horse drawn wagons, filled with Russian Soldiers. In 1956 when
the Hungarian Revolution was defeated by the Russians, it was the same tank, same horses,
same wagons that came to my Town. The soldiers were the same also, older but the same. We should recognize their heroic actions during the Patriotic War. Let us not get carried away about their weapons. They were made into something formidable by the
Industrial Moguls of the USA. It seems that
the USA functions best when we have an enemy.
Modern Weaponry? - Hello.

Hate to say this, but I have a "sneaky feeling" that the Russian military has managed to update their weapons of war just a "tad" since 1956. I'm PRETTY sure the US, China, Germany, France, Canada.... pretty much everyone has. By the same token, I'm almost certain that these more modern weapons will do a lot more damage than 1 old tank and a horse drawn wagonload of old soilders. Not sure, just a guess.

Greetings Cat,
On the surface, your point seems valid. On the other hand, if you consider the total
lack of success of nations using Russian
Weapons in Military Conflicts, well, you might want to reconsider. Iraq, Syria, Egypt,
Lybia are just a few examples. They all had their but kicked by MODERN WEAPONS, IE, AMERICAN WEAPONS. I stand on my previous
comment: MODERN RUSSIAN WEAPONS? Give me a BREAK.
