MadRussian, you always talk about Russia's technologically superior "toys", but if you look into the Russian history, Russia has never successfully fought using superior technology, they have always used vast numbers of easily produced weapons. Thats why Russia has been so successfull at war. If the USA and Russia + China fought, it would suck for us all. Nukes wouldn't be used, but there would be a huge loss of life. The only thing is that both China and Russia lack a sufficiant Navy, or sufficiant cargo aircraft to succesfully bring the war to the US, while we do have what is takes to bring the war to Russia/China. But lets hope that that never happens because I would rather go my whole military career without going to war with anyone, especially Russia.

Dearest "edge", it's not that I don't agree wholeheartedly about agression and the loss of war, I do. What concerns me is this, you claim to be in the Military, USA I suppose? You also made mention, elsewhere about your Top Secret Security Rating. I have to tell you, this has me more than just a little confused. As I have mentioned on this board in other places, I'm a little ole' grandma'. That would indicate that I am also a mother, which I am (and please watch the spelling). Two of my three children were in the United States Navy. My son was a "Nuke" and my daughter was a "Crypto". My son had top secret clear., but my daughter's was the highest. The confusion enters when I think about the fact that neither of them could talk to strangers, had to report it if someone on the street asked them the time of day. My daughter had several close friends throughout high school, who were foriegn exchange students from Germany and elsewhere. She was NOT allowed to write nor receive mail from them, she was NOT allowed to phone nor be phoned by them, I'm sure you get the picture. Neither of them were allowed to have their photos taken by anyone outside the family. On and on, etc... My daughter even had a Bosen's mate assigned to her if onboard plane or ship, who's only duty it was was to shoot her if captured. So, I'm just a LITTLE confused as to how you can mention your security level AND express your military stances with "foriegn nationals", while on active duty. I mean, I'm ALL for open discussions, just don't see how you can get away with so much at your security level.

Can you clear this up for me?

Cat

-k- I may have caused a little confusion. I said TS, not Top-Secret. TS is a term used around the base I am stationed. I congratulate you for having two children that can go through all of that, and have the jobs that require that. You must have brought them up right, but nevermind. Basically, TS isn't what everyone thinks it is, its just termanology used around here.

Edge,
But you alluded to it darling. What does the terminology stand for?

You remind me of another person who in an earlier posting mentioned contact with Russian Officers at the time when there was no contact what so ever between the two military personnel - friendly or non friendly.

Boy, will your commanding officer really be pissed at you now! He might just chase you around the barracks and place you in the stockade. ~smile~

oh I love this so!
