apparently the other thread is only for people who want to agree with or praise the original poster, so.....
... does Russia need a Tsar? What would be the benefits (if any?) of having a Tsar? What drawbacks do you foresee? If you are Russian, would you like to see Tsardom restored? All viewpoints are welcome, for or against! (of course, in a monarchy, viewpoints against are dealt with by chopping off the head of your opponent and putting it on a big stick by the city gates...) dear valerie,
Tsars are like Kings. the word Tsar comes from Cesar in Russian. does Russia need a monarchy? well, my prediction is it will never have one again, just cause scientists had some minor problems in making time travel possible. |

I do not think Russia needs a Tsar. A Tsar family will cost Russia a lot of money, it is not affordable at the time. One can tell me, that the "support" of the Yelzin family was very expensive too, but at least it can be appealed at court :-) In the first case, everything will be legal.

Czar: one having great power or authority. Does not this simple definition qualify Lenin, Stalin, and several lesser luminaries? Discount Boris the Sham; he's only a thieving lust. Nikki might qualify for half-Czardom-if he kept his shoes on. The rest? Who cares? Putin is too small to carry such a heavy crown.
