Less than 8 hours and we'll see if he becomes President. (of the United States...Dr. W) I'm hoping you have been watching the performance of both candidates during the past two weeks and would very much like to hear your comments.
The difference in the vote count is around 430 as of right now. ------------------ Rick Spencer |

The election is still too close to call. Here at a day when there is hope of a decision, what one gets is the threat of several more weeks of this farce. The truth is that we may never get a proper decision due to some very stupid actions on both sides. If it is thrown to the US Supreme Court, the House, and the Senate there will not be a decision on the merits, but rather a compromise that just might leave the American people outraged. The elements of the issues being raised are so beyond the pale of the "rule of law" that no determiner of facts can come to a rational decision. Too, whoever dares make a decision as to which man will be the president will most certainly be the target of the fury of the other side. Even though he has a better organization and more money with which to do battle I would not yet put the mantle on Dubya. -THE DESTROPYER-

Hello Rick
It's kinda difficult to talk about the "performance" of the candidates... or perhaps I see this situation wrongly? From what I see, how the candidates perform is somewhat immaterial, since no new votes are being cast (well, there were a mysterious number of extra army votes, ehem, but apart from that...). So how they're doing doesn't matter... it's how many votes have been cast, and how accurately they are counted, which matters? I have not been greatly impressed by either of them, really - carrying themselves with all the statesmenlike dignity of two kids arguing over whose baseball it is :-( The motivation of both is questionable. Gore wants the job because he feels that he earned it being Clinton's No. 2. Bush wants the job to get his own back on the Democrats for what they did to his dad. What concerns me most is the unfettered level of power the guy who wins will obtain. Whilst WITHIN the USA his hands are tied by the legislative procedure, and there exists a very real possibility of being unable to enact any legislation because Delegates are opposed to it.... on the world scene, it's apparent that few Americans care WHAT the President does :-( As long as he doesn't make a fool of the nation, of course. But strong actions - even if they are completely ill-advised and aimed at the wrong people - win public approval. Today's news seems to be that well, there won't be a result any time soon. Dr W. |

Dear Rick:
I hope that you are correct about this and I am wrong. Quite honestly, I think it has been the Democratic game plan to "discover" enough ballots in South Florida to put Gore over the top. I think that the Florida State Supreme Court was in on the fix from the start and that the selection of 5 P.M. today as a deadline was chosen by the Clinton-Gore Administration and their lackeys. One can only speculate about what they offered those Florida judges -- seats on the U.S. Supreme Court, federal judge appointments, money, etc. Also, I wouldn't rule out blackmail, after all one of Clinton's first acts as president was to order the Secret Service to ask the FBI for their files on thousands of Americans. In a pile like that I bet state judges were well represented. Sincerely, Ronbo The time now is 2:57 P.M. in Orlando, Florida -- we should know shortly..... |

And now the American taxpayer can really begin paying through the nose for the army of 'gleaners of truth' to try out any number of operators on otherwise simple words. In reality, a first year law student using the nerdy IRAC system could see the issues, elements, and holdings in this farce. And could do so in a matter of minutes. _____________________________________________ SS Harris violated Floriday State Law. The good ol' boys (and gurls) of the Floriday Supreme Court violated Floriday State Law. Jeb boy violated Floriday State Law. Its a Political Issue, not a Legal Issue. There are no qualified Politicians to solve the Problem. So, the US Supreme Court will have to violate the Law of the Land to utter a gillion words of wisdom in rulings reaching to the high heavens. Of course, each of their words will cost the taxpayer a cool million. Total cost of this election: around $50,000,000,000. -THE DESTROYER-
