Pardon me? Sorry, I have been remiss about checking this part of the boards for a while. I meant exactly what I said in my post. I was NOT linking ANY specific nation to ANY specific religion. Perhaps if you go back and read the post, you will understand the message I was trying to get across. I understand that many wars have been fought throughout history by those who would be "king" (call it whatever you will). Many have died for religious ideals. Regardless of what their ideals were, they are just as dead once all is said and done and the hatred still goes on.

The bottom line is this, if you are an unpleasant individual, you "packaging" makes no difference. I follow this rule in dealing with others, I meet and get to know them as individuals. I can tell you that I either like or dislike someone based upon WHO they are, not WHAT they are.

I am, as I said, proud to be an American. However, let's all realize that where we are born is just "an accident" of birth! I didn't get to put in a request "in utero" for the US, nor did you. I did not fight in any war, although I have lost many friends who did. 2 of my 3 children proudly served in the US Navy. I respect my country and the flag that represents it to one and all.

I will not, however, wrap myself in that flag as an excuse to foster hatred for anyone! I still believe that anyone who does is a boorish fool. Unless your (speaking in generic terms here) family tree has but one branch, I would guess that there are some other ethnic backgrounds thrown in there. We all know what happens when something is hybrid...the bloom loses it scent, the animal (dog, cat) begins to suffer form previously unknown maladies. Hybrids begin to weaken, wither and die off. Careful or we might find that happening to the human race.

Ploitics and religon aside, we ARE all more alike than not. We all want peace, security, health and a happy home.

Cat

i do not have the heart to insult the country that accepted me and my family on its own soil. people here are nice and i made a lot of friends. talk about hate and competition and propaganda and Cold war 2 as much as u want, but i know that the real people (both Russians and Americans) DO NOT HATE EACH OTHER AT ALL 'cause they are all HUMAN,duh! i have seen a lot of evil in america but also a lot of good (like protection of a citizen's rights, respect towrds an individual, different races at least working towands peaceful coexistence, opportunity....)
No, fellow Russians, i am not an Americanized traitor and i am not saying what the U.S. gov't drills me to say. in fact, i love Motherland more than many people can imagine, and my first allegiance will always belong to Russia alone, buT

I AM NOT AFRAID TO SCREAM THAT USA IS GOOD AND WE SHOULD ALL AT LEAST RESPECT THEM AS NEIGHBORS AND ALL THE USA-BASHING GOING ON ON THIS SITE IS A HUGE S H A M E!!!!! THERE.

i am an american and when i was younger we all hated russia
but we do grow up and we now realize russia has many good people and are not the bad country we had thought, in fact
i concider russia a friend to the u.s. and will be hounered to fight side by side, and show the rest of the world that,
in spite of the past our two countries are powerful but, yet
careing, yes i have grown to respect the russians and realize how dumb i was before

Straighterway,
What a beautiful sentiment. Thank you for your kind words and support. It is always such a shame that the many are often judged by the behavior of the few.

I have only seen photo's of your country, but what I have seen is wonderful. What a beautiful, diverse country. And I have only heard stories about the spectacular metro system.
