Talking

yet again, the board's been spammed. this time by a company offering free web-hosting. Now these guys have an actual domain-name you could track-down?!

Please could you let us know if you have any plans to moderate this board in the future, or are you just going to allow any commercial crap to get multi-posted in all sections of the board, and not care?

You have a DUMB anti-profanity switch which changed the Russian word "z.a.s.h.i.t.a.t." (to protect) into "z.a.*.*.*.*.t.a.t." - so you obviously care a BIT about what is posted here? But not enough to actually, errr, DO anything, or to allow the numerous members here who've offered to help you out on humdrum admin tasks to help - even when all they want is just to "tidy up the rec room that everyone uses anyhow"?

Lemme just spell this out. I am connecting to Russia.Com FROM RUSSIA. Sometimes I get connection-speeds of 16,000bps, or even 9600bps, or LESS from provincial cities. It takes a LONG time to check new messages, and when I find they are SPAM in all sections, it's very, very, frustrating.

You claim to moderate this board. But in the two years I have been here, I have never seen you do ANYTHING to moderate it? So what's going on? Your lack of replies in this section is frankly quite insulting to the members who've posted here, expecting you'd reply?

Dr W.

Thumbs up

Hello Dr_Woland,

As of October, I am the new Admin for Russia.com. And, yes I am actively seeking Moderators for this site. If you, or anyone else, is interested please see "Be A Moderator" on the homepage. I do not have access to past requests, so if you are still interested, then please re-submit. In the meantime, I will tend to the spamming.

We truly appreciate your comments and suggestions. In the future, feel free to post here or email me directly, boards@russia.com. If we all work together, Russia.com will be a "tidy", friendly, place that everyone will enjoy again.

Thank you.

Question

Admin., "friendly? The members supporting Russia.com are here to chew on issues, not to make friends. The boards are Verbal Combat Arenas wherein the players kill hoary beasts. Any attempt to re-train the vets will cause a firestorm with you at the center. _____________________________________________ Not too many people coming here are interested in playing with silly putty. _____________________________________________ Just keep the damnable capitalist spammers out, and we will take care of the rest. Peace
