What we know as the IDEA referred to by the symbol of the WORD "gravity" has operated for millenia before the discovery of Kepler(NOT Newton) and continues to pervade our lives today. It cannot be touched or felt, it cannot be seen or smelt, it cannot be tasted or apprehended by any organ of sense perception.

It is very definitely "imaginary" yet it pervades the Universe and governs its behavior.
