How long do you have for editing after posting a message on the board without the [edited by...] sign appears? I am hasitant to edit all the time after I see mistakes in my post because of the sign, but one time I edited right away and there was no [edited by TAP...] sign. I already read that you can only edit for 2880 min after posting and would like to know if there was a specific time for editing when the sign does not appear.

Oh yes I would also like to add to on TAP's post, that it does bother me too, when after editing the [Edited by appears]. Specialy if it is my post, and I am editing for some errors I made.

I was unable to find the exact time, but based on my own experience I would say that you have less than 5 minutes to make corrections without the footer appearing.

This footer is necessary in order to help the reader and anyone immediately replying to the post.

For example, you post "I hate chocolate". Members then reply to you and wonder how you could hate such a wonderful thing. So, you go back and edit "hate" to "love". Now their replies do not make sense, but we can see that you changed your mind and edited your original post.

Does that make sense ?
