Angry

I don't know if others have experienced this, but whenever I write a reply, especially a long one, and then click Preview Post my post disappears and I am asked to enter my user name and password again.

After I look up my password and enter it the screen takes me to a message that reads: "No thread specified..."

At this point I have to go to the forum again and make a new reply. My previous reply message has vaporized, and I have to write a new one from scratch. This is very annoying!

It is further perplexing because my user name and password always appear when I write the reply in the "Post New Thread" screen. It is confusing why it asks for the password again and destroys my message in the process.

To avoid the problem I always try to copy my text before clicking the Preview Post button. But there should be a proper solution.

Please correct this problem.

Thank you

Question Any luck?

Suggestion:

Try to reply to a message and leave the "Post Reply" screen open for half an hour or so, as if writing a long reply.

After 30 minutes click "Preview Reply," and it should ask for your password again.

Hope this helps.

Danger Boy,

The system automatically signs you out if your reply is not posted within 20 minutes or so from the time you click on POST REPLY. Try to finish your post before that time.

Yup, it's standard practice on all websites that require passwords to "timeo-out" after a while. Although 20 minutes is too short a period, I think. I usually copy my response (CTRL+C) before hitting "submit" when it takes me a long time to type it. If the reply disappears like this, I can paste it again.

I use the "preview post" all the time (especially when I embed pics, to see if they take), without problems, but Davlet is correct about "time-outs" occurring. When I am in a particularly long post i do a "select all", copy, the post. ...so if the post did not take, I have had it saved to repost again.

If any of you read my first post here, you'd see that I also copy Ctrl+C my posts and preview often.

That's not a solution. Most forums out there can keep my computer loggen in or subscribed with my password for a year or so. I don't even need to log in. These virtualcountries forums are different. Perhaps they should make an option wehre I could keep my home PC logged in automatically for a year also.

I don't see why they should time me out every 20 minutes; it's not like there is a great deal of forumers logged in at the same time.
