Would it be possible to number posts in each thread according to their appearance?
For reference purposes it would be easier to find specific posts in long threads by their number rather then by the author who could have several posts in that thread. Thank you

No I think he means if you want to find a specific post by a member if it is numbered that it would be easy to find it I suppose than if you do a search on the member…
because some members have lots of posts and it is impossible sometimes to find one of 2550 posts by that member. But than if you don’t know what number that post has than it will still be hard to find it. |

I know to what he was referring Mari. It just doesn't make sense if you think about it. I have over 6,000 posts. What good would numbering them be? How would you know what to look for based on numbering them? gee what was post #4439?
The search engine is most helpful when typing in the username and all the strings that person posted on show. |

The problem is when you have threads 5-8 pages and you just opened it. You find it interesting and you want to reply to some messages in the middle of the thread.
You click reply and then go back to find the posts you liked to reply to. To find the needed post you scroll through all the pages and read all the messages again to find the one you want to reply to. If they were numbered all you had to do is remember the number and later find the numbered post.
