What does a traditional Russian meal consists of just out of interest....

The main dishes I know are, is it called russian salad or something? Beef Stroganoff and Gaspacho?

Is there something else I don't know about? Can anyone shed light on my simple question please?

Thanks inadvance

Hi!

Various soups (especially щи and борщ), boiled buckwheat, salted fish, блины, various pies (big and small), salted cucumbers, soured cabbage.

>is it called russian salad
It's a rather modern meal. Russian cuisine didn't knew any salads until XVIII century. Salads (and potato too) were invented in Russia by Peter the First.

>Gaspacho
What's this?

Smile Gaspacho

As a response to your question D_M, Gaspacho is a form of spicy tomato soup that is served cold, I believe it is more of a Spanish tapas dish.
