Oh, the food itself could have been sufficient alibi for travel to India.

But my dream is (Seems like it can happen when I'm a retired old man having nothing else to do) to travel and see India, Tibet, whole South America and Japan, but not like a sigtseeing bloody tourist taking pictures. I've been to a lot of European cities but only a few eastern ones were interesting and authentic (Like Budapest and Prague) and that applies to their cuisine as well

Anyway, until I'm retired, I can only go to Spice Market in Istanbul and sniff the exotic spices imported from the fabulous eastern countries like yours.

Cheers

A retired man who wants to fill belly and watch belly dancing? I call this invitation to heart attack. Oh well, anyway, eastern people should have many secrets for long and interesting life, sacrificing none of them for the other.

Hi.. kubic!

Congrats on Turkish people for holding demonstartions insisting on a secular government, not mixing religion and government.
Brave people daring the Muslim Mullahs who want to control the people on the name of religion.

Democracy loses its essence when it is not secular.

Hi Velu, long time no see. I've been away for a while and desolation of R.com has been one of the reasons why. I miss the flamey old R.com. Trying not to offtop too long from the main subject ("Food") of this thread, I'll only comment to your post that I'm extremely happy with the peaceful but strong demonstrations held to defend the foundations of the modern republic. My country has not seen for the last century that "millions" gathered in major cities yet noone harmed. The sad thing is that the mentor of the hidden & sneaky political-islamic movement (Which triggered the protest of these millions) is a preacher called Fethullah Hodja, there are lawsuits about him here in my country and he's fled to and found shelter in the USA, our ally. BTW, I left Azerbaijan and returned to Istanbul already more than a year ago. So, no more Maharaja restaurant But I'll find a decent Indian restaurant here. Take care, K
