Pirogs... Russki Bistro

I'm from Wigan as everyone on the planet knows are the
capital of pies but Wigan pies bow to the knee to the Russian
pirog, these are fantastic. When I was in Moscow I would stop
off at Russki Bistro to by lots of nice potato pies and kvas...
man a meal fit for a king!

Wigan is a small Lancashire town (in England) where they think they can make pies. But as the real world knows, the only place to get a proper pie is in Teesside (also in ENgland). Newboulds make the best pies in the world.

Thumbs down Middlesboro pies????

Everyone knows Wigan and pies are synonymous. Wigan has more
pie shops than banks. Meat and Potato, steak and if you are a veggie Cheese.
No chicken and Mushroom or any other unless you are a southerner!

The world pie eating champiosnhips were held in Wigan in front of a sky
news camera team

There are more pie shops in Wigan than there are banks! Wiganers are known
worldwide as 'pie eaters' whereas Middlesborough are known as 'smoggies'!

My favourite is the pies made by Greenhalghs, man no-one never mind
someone from Middlesborough can make a pie like them men

Stick to getting thrashed in the UEFA cup by Seville wait till Wigan Ath
get into the UEFA cup... we'll show you hows it done!

This reminds me how Americans call 'world-famous' everything that is hardly known outside the state.

Alex hits the nail on the head with his post above and also note that the Guardian is renowned for its Third World First reporting.

You have no banks in Wigarn. Unlike Smoggies you don't have jobs so there is no money.

Even Guardian readers know that pies from Farnworth are better than those from Wigarn. And Smoggie pies are better than both.

This thread will be revisited next season when we see how your squad copes with 60+ games and an injury list as long as yer arm. Good luck to Wigarn but you sound like the Everton supporters did when they got into the European Championship.

PS When you learn to spell Middlesbrough I'll learn to spell Wigarn.

Who cares how a two bob, one horse town is spelt. Middlesborough will
remain a two bob, one horse town if I spell its name right or
not

Well you know a battle between some one from Wigan and someone
from Middlesborough (I'll spell it like this from now on hahaha) about
how nicer their grim sh*thole is, is like a flame war between two
orang utans about how bad their VPL is.

Have you been to Wigan and tasted a pie? I have been to Smoggieland
and have to say Newboulds pies are nowhere near the standard of a
proper Wigan pie.

As for your football, you have been crap all season with a bit of green
run in the UEFA cup, Wigan played you off the park at the Riverside
and I can see next season being better, bet you can't say the
same though
