MOSCOW WINE FESTIVAL REPORT
The Third Moscow International Wine Festival will be launched on Wednesday as part of the City Day celebrations.
According to the organizers, the primary objectives of the festival are to revive the Russian culture of wine consumption, to promote the best brands of Russian wine, as well as to make Russian buyers acquainted with unknown foreign wine brands and their manufactures. The festival will present the products from not only the famous wine-making states, such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Georgia and Moldova, but also wines from Japan, South Africa, Argentina and another dozen of states. Pavilions of wine-makers will be designed as small open-air cafes serving both wine and national dishes with arrangement items characteristic for a state.
The festival will also include competitions for the best exposition, wine-testing and a wine presentation. Prominent Russian oenologists (experts majoring in wine) will tell visitors about the history of wine, as well as about the methods of wine quality evaluation.
