Just wondering... what are the usuall or average costs for food in Russia? Thanks!

Still.

Prices vary. Cheaper in southern provinces, more expensive in the north, even more expensive in St.Petersburg and by far more expensive in Moscow.

In St.Petersburg:

chicken fillet: 120-130 RUR per kg.
beef fillet: 130-150 RUR per kg.
tomatos: 40 RUR
milk: 20 RUR per litre
bread: 5-12 RUR
sugar: 20 RUR per kg

cat food: RUR 10 for Whiscas portion, RUR 12.50 - Friskies.

cigarettes: RUR 8 (cheap Russian brands) - RUR 28 (Marlboro and such) - RUR 35 (Mild Seven, Parliament and such) - RUR 80 (Sobranie etc.)

beer: RUR 12 for a bottle (Stepan Razin) - RUR 17 (Baltica, Zolotaya Bochka etc.) - 30 (Miller, Tuborg) - RUR 55 (Tinkoff)

USD 1 = ~RUR 29.5
