<Over 200 active Molokan congregations exist worldwide. In Russia, most Molokan congregations re-appeared due to laws now permitting religious freedom. The 150 Russian Molokan communities are mostly in the south, concentrated in the Northern Caucasus, throughout the Stavropol'skii krai, and the eastern Rostov oblast, Tselinskii raion. Since the reorganization of the former Soviet Union, almost all Russians, including Molokans, have been driven from the Caucasus. Of those who weren't resettled with existing Molokan communities, many were resettled throughout the Krasnodarskii oblast and Chernskii raion in the south Tula oblast.>

TFLIS (TIFLIS, Russia) & Erivan (Armenian capital city, YEREVAN) in Northern Armenia.

Molokans have resided in this area for last 170 yrs, unfortunately there are only about 5,000 Molokans left in Northern Armenian today.

PS>I suspect you will need to focus on location a little better. Most Molokans lived in villages, so it could be that you are looking for Molokan villages in the Tiflis and Yerevan provinces.

Molokans

I guess I was not very clear on my query. I am specifically interested in information (if any) of the Villages that my grandparents were from in the early 1908-1912 when they left Russia to come to the USA. Kars: Novo-Selim and I think Erivan Nikitina. Are there any official records of census from that time? If so, how would I access them? Thank you for your post.

Microfilm of manuscripts in the Central Historical Archive of the Armenian Republic, Erevan. Text in Russian. Catalog information from the LDS Family History Library Card Catalog for information collected from Kars, Turkey (Russian Empire). The first set was filmed on 62 microfilm reels by The Genealogical Society of Utah, 1994-1995. The information was collected from churches in the Kars area, that were tasked by the Tsar with political record keeping. Our research has shown that these films contain a vast variety of documents and files, including Birth, Marriage, Death and Passport records. As soon as any of you have seen these please send in a report. Go to the nearest Mormon Library. In California, check West LA and Oakland, and in Arizona I'll visit Mesa. ___________________________________________________________________________
