For a Russian surname, the suffix is wrong. This surname would most likely have been found in what is Ukraine and Belarus areas today. At the turn of the century this was Czarist Russia. Leo was a Russian citizen, but his ethnicity was most likely something else???

As per Ellis Island, immigrants w/same surname (w/transliteration variant spelling like Greczanjuk/Greczanjiuk) came from Borki>Grodno Guberniya>Czarist Russia.

I ran a Soundex search for Borsdoe. The closest match I could make was possibly Berestye??? This would have been Vohlynskaya Guberniya>Czarist Russia at the turn of the century. Today Ukraine.

Where did Leo Grecenuk settle upon immigration? Appx when did he immigrate?
