looking for Nickolai Fomin

I am trying to find Nickolai Fedorovich Fomin, he was born in Smolensk on December 7 1921, he went to Leningrad University, was in the Russian Army (occupation of East Germany) then worked for the Department of Agriculture (we think) he was last heard of living in Kalinin/Tver with or near his sister Olga. I am coming to Russia in October and very much want to find him before then. Can anyone help me please? I have tried everything I can think of to find him.
