i am researching for ANYTHING on Deczewicz family from Melniki Russia. father Konstantin, son Nickolai (born 1892). Nickolai emigrated to USA in 1912. would church there have vital records of family-birth, marriage, death- and is there still family there? also, there is family story that a vase was handed down to the oldest girl in family and she signed her name on the vase and that it is now in museum in Kremlin. is this possible?
thanks, lynn |

Melniki Russia or Melnichi Ruchi?
Think you might mean MELNICHI RUCHI 440.7 miles NW of Moscow. The spelling varies w/the transliteration.
The only correct spelling of the town name is in its original language, using its original alphabet. Melnichi Ruchi http://www.mapquest.com/cgi-bin/ia_f...8y7gu67_l62xla,bb6%7c_%3d%3a%28_%3dy7gu67_l62xla%28l%241w-u.wf7%3bxcx5sf7.grfe%7cs RAGAS - Sources for genealogy in the archives of the former Soviet Union http://feefhs.org/ragas/rag-sour.html Researching Russian Roots http://www.mtu-net.ru/rrr/ Russia Genealogy links http://www.genealogylinks.net/europe/rus.htm PS>The surname has a German Polish flavor. |
