I'm trying to find someone who is doing genealogy research on Russians who emigrated to America. My husband's grandfather was from Russia, perhaps Belarus. His grandmother from the Carpathian Mountains. Sorry to say, the officials changed his grandfather's name when he arrived in America, so we're having a really hard time tracing him back. I'm also trying to find someone who can put me in touch with a fire fighter's organization over there. My daughter is a fire fighter here, in Florida and they love to collect badges like law enforcement officers do. I would love to give her a badge from Russia for Christmas. Any suggestions on either of these?
