I am trying to establish possible jewish ancestry on my father's side of the family. His mother & her parents were from the Don Region (Voronezh) and my father's family from Ussuriysk (far eastern Russia). They came to the U.S. in the late '40s via Harbin & Shanghai. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can obtain any official information as to their religious status? Does anyone have an address or information on how to contact officials in the Don Region to request birth records, etc? Thank you for your response.

Hi,
I read your message and found it most interesting. unfortunately you will not find any birth records of your family. However, it is possible to look through the federal government sites, any one that will end with a .net . I hope you can find what you are looking for. The only way to locate any information about your fathers family is by looking throught the record of the United States Library of Congress! I you feel like talking Email me at Wizmaster2@aol.com GOOD LUCK ------------------ BBG |
