Hi Julia,
Welcome! Don't worry, you won't be lonely here. And there are many young Russian people in Chicago. Are you studying here now, or are you just here for a vacation? There are other boards here too, like the Personals and the Open Boards where there are many good discussions. Hope you stick around! Jutka |

Reply from Philadelphia
I am American. I wanted to speak with Russians and you are one. How old are you? About 19 or 20 years I think. What are you studying in college in America and why are you going to school here instead of Russia? What do you plan to do with your college degree?
In what city do you live in Russia? Is it big or small? I have never been to Russia, but of course, there are books and TV. One thing about your country I love is Russian music and ballet. I am older, not your age. I'm sure you have more interest in communicating with young people. But I would appreciate hearing all about your country in your words. During most of my life, America and Russia were locked in a Cold War and there was no internet until recently. You may have grown up with the internet, taking it for granted you could talk to people all over the world. But for most people, it is fairly new and very exciting. Do many people in your country have computers and do they use the internet? Hope to hear from you. |

hi,
thank you very much for your sweet letter! i'm sorry it took me so long to reply but i've been very busy. I'll try to answer all your questions. I'm a liiiiiiitle bit younger than you've thought. actually I'm not in college yet, I'm just earning the credit for it now. I'll be going to college next year. I'll be going to college here instead of Russia because one person who is in charge for me wants me to study here and it's easier to enter college here because I don't have a lot of money to pay for this one but I can earn the credit - i cannot do that in Russia, unfortunately. I plan to use my college degree to be able to minister to God and to people all over the world - I want to be a reporter. I am from Moscow - the capital of Russia. A very beautiful city! Actually I live in the suburbs btu it's very close from Moscow, in about 25 minutes away. what kind of Russian music do you like? do you now a lot about ballet? actually you are very wrong - I love to communicate with people all ages - I love elders too because there are so many things I can learn from them! I think it's very intersting to meet new people and to find out their life styles, the way of thinking and many other things. yes, computers are very popular in Russia now, in fact, many people have them but not everyone. I'm sure there are more people with computers in America than in Russia. The Internet is very popular in Russia also, it the fastest and best way of communication, I think. I hope I answered all your questions by now, if you have more, please feel free to write, I will write back. Thank you very much for your letter again, I hope to hear from you soon! JULIA |
