welcome

Welcome aboard Alenchik! Kak delya? I am doing fine. I too just signed on here a few days ago. I live in the U.S.A. I visited a friend in Yaroslav, Russia last July, and had a wonderful time. I really hope and plan on going back to visit her next year for a couple of weeks. I've been trying to learn the language on my own, I can read it, but have trouble pronouncing it. I also don't understand what I am reading unless the english version is after it. I don't really know much Russian, not even enough to get me by. I hope to be able to learn more before I go out there next year. Have a great time while you are here on this site!!

Spazeeba Alenchik! Yes, I liked Russia very much, and had a lot of fun there. When I was in Russia, I didn't really experience the people not being happy. At times I saw where people looked serious, or weren't smiling, but I also saw when they were smiling and laughing. I think I saw someone else that said they never saw anyone smiling.
I love to travel. I have visited many of the states on the East side, and in the South. I've been to a few states on the West side.
I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our state looks like a mitten, and what looks like the thumb area, I actually live way across to the other side of that, closer to Lake Michigan. I hope this makes sense. It's the only way I can describe it. We have all four seasons there(Spring, Summer, Autumn(Fall) and Winter. We sometimes get a lot of snow during the Winter. We have an AHL hockey team called the Grand Rapids Griffins. We had a few Russians play for us. Petr Schastlivy, Slava Butsayev, Konstantin Gorovikov, and Ilya Demidov, Konstantin Shavronov, and I think his name was Demitri Afansenkov(not sure of the spelling, or his 1st name). I did a scrap book on one of the players, and was trying to get some help from someone from another forum, where he also played hockey in the NHL, and that is how I met my friend in Russia, that I went to go visit. She sent me information on him. He also played in her home town, Yaroslav.
I hope to talk to you again soon!
Have a great day!
