Yes, Russians were fighting in WW2, they had a leader.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend anybody! It was just a suggestion (and not a very good one at that). You are right in thinking that such heroism was the cause of victory at the battle of Stalingrad and the seige of Leningrad. Wherever I go on holiday the weather seems to conquer me. Maybe I'll reschedule my summer plans next year...

The weather has no allies, no sides. "Belaja smersh, white death, valkoinen kuolema" helped Finland in Winter War 1939-40 against Soviet's attack. It also was on the side of SU. Operation Barbarossa failed largely due the harsh Russian winter...the attacker is more vulnerable to the weather than the defender.

this is ridiculous, stalin single handely won it all, stalin made the weather to defeat the germans
