Well, Britain did about absolute **** during WWII, except keep rommel and his underfed, supply starved army in check in egypt. and then having him surrender in tripoli in nov, 42. And also strategically bomb the **** out of germany at the waning months of WWII. but as far as the british army is concerned, NOTHING, any British WWII credit goes exclusively to the RAF.


And yes Germ. did start the war on september 1, 1939. Russia invaded Poland two weeks later, not one. And aside from that Katimin or whatever Forest Massacre of 1940, (because of Stalin's paranoia), there were NO mass killings of Poles by Russians. Any Polish WWII civilian casualties would go to the german.

Britain was the only country fighting Germany long before the US and USSR became involved. If the UK had made peace terms with the Germans they would have devoted all their resources against Russia and their entire u-boat fleet against American commerce and there is no way that Russia would have withstood a full scale assault by the entire military might of Germany. In terms of finances and resources the UK sacrificed far more per capita than any other allied nation.
