Hitler Vs. Stalin

hey guys i have a history\philosophical question

I have a papaer to write for History and i want to discuss with some of you, who know some about these two vicious and charismatic characters.

What makes Stalin and Hitler two of the best leaders and dominat characters and also how do you discribe\identify a good leader or dominat person? and where they good leaders and dominant charcaters of the 20th Centuary ?

If you may give me some thought\ideas on this subject i would be greatfull.

I know little about Stalin as a man but for Hitler I know how much of a great leader he was.
In the 1930s Germany was in depression as was most of Europe but due to the Treaty of Versailles Germany was hit worst. Hitler being a Corporal in the First World War had seen his country rise to might and be knocked back down to ground level however he did not see this as an act of war but as an act by the Jews in government, hence his hatred for the Jews. He and his troops on the frontline still believed they could of won that war.
So when the National Socialist party was formed Hitler was the leader and after the Beer Hall putsch of 1923 for which Hitler was imprisoned and wrote the famous Mein Kampf, they began to shine. After a failed assault on government the politics came to play, this gave Hitler another chance to become the leader of his once great nation.
His party was made up of many men and he used his "aids" SA to destroy, disrupt and basically cause mayhem throughout Berlin, on every occasion blaming either the Jews or Communists, a lot of the acts were against the other parties. This all politics, right?

Anyway, as the party starting gaining seats, first 3 then onwards from there they began to make walkouts therefore cancelling the government meetings, you cannot have democracy if some of the members of parliament are missing. And with each new election and each walkout they gained more and more people and votes.
Until through pressure on Hindenburg, Hitler was made Chancellor. Hitler made more and more good arguments, blaming Jews for their fall to depression and loss at World War one, along with blaming the communists for their loss and the capture of Riga by the communists after World War one, the reason that the Freikorps was sent to protect the German citizens in 1919.

When Hitler became leader in 1933, he himself was afraid over being kicked out by a more powerful man therefore he encouraged his lowers, Heydrich, Himmler, Goering, Goebbels and Rohm to compete for senior positions in the party. A very smart move for they began to hate each other politically therefore taking their eyes away from top spot which Hitler wanted.

Throughout the 1930s Hitler made the people love him, he created the Hitler Youth and gave out medals to women who had children (Bronze, Silver and Gold Mother Medals), this encouraged growth of population and growth of workforce.
He began kicking Jews out of power and kicking communists out. Therefore creating a better place for GERMAN people. In his book Mein Kampf he wanted a stronger country, more living space and a better way of life for his people. And this he was going to give them. Removing Jews and Communists and all with in his German peoples eyes good reason began giving more and more power to Germans, so again they loved him more.
Every disaster was either Jews or Communists fault. He had good reason to blame the communist, the Germans hated the Russian Bolsheviks after the Riga incident. They raped and killed ethnic Germans in the Riga region. After bringing Germany under his thumb through his passion to make it a better place, through funding in the right places and kicking scurges out of his country he moved south to Austria. Being Austrian himself he already had the love of Austrain people, and Austria always believed they should belong with Germany, the Treaty of Versailles had stopped this.
However, with his new power, economically and miltia wise the rest of the world didn't want to act. So, Austria became his and he began cleaning that up like he did in Germany. Now, the German people also wanted land back that was stolen from them after World War one, the Sudetenland, Riga and they again wanted to occupy the Rhineland. So they did.
Hitler demanded the Sudetenland back and got it from the Munich Pact. All this gaining the love of German people, he was protecting the Germans from outside forces.

Also throughout his reign propaganda was making him out as a God, had you witnessed those 6 years before World War 2, I imagine you'd feel the same, I know I would. Times Magazine made Hitler man of the Year 1938 for his actions. The reason Hitler declared war on Poland was because he demanded the Riga region back, which they did not give.
This invasion was looked on by German people as justified, as Riga was German it always had been, but the Polish had been given control and the Communists were raping, killing and making life hell for the German people there. Hitler was protecting, again, his German people.

Everything Hitler did he was protecting the German people. His invasion of France and the Lowlands, he was protecting his people for France had declared war on them. And most of the Lowland coutries accepted the "invasions" anyway. He let the countries he took have their own SS divisions, there was even an British SS division made up of 15 British POWs that didn't really do anything but it was all propaganda. A country like Holland with Dutch in the Dutch SS looked upon Germany as great and their saviour, this was all political, you give that country what seems to be some power, they love you.

The invasion of Russia and the Communists, was protecting his people. The communists were destroying German lives outside Germany, and the other reason was living space.

In conclusion: Hitler was the Greatest Politician you will ever see or hear about. He made his promises and he kept them, what politician does that now? He brought a recently defeated country, that was in hell and brought it up to be the greatest power in the world. The standard of living rose for all the German people, in or out of Germany. He took back the lands that were rightfully the Fatherlands.
He knew what the people wanted and he gave them it. Had Germany not invaded Poland, the world would of loved Hitler because he was a shining example of such a great leader. He loved his people and he did everything in his power to make their lives better. For him, it was not power that was his driving force it was his people. Who many politicians do you see today, truly caring about their people?
People say he was a facist leader, but in reality had he allowed Democratic votes the German people would of voted him in time and time again. He was their saviour, and he made good reason for all he did.

He was the greatest leader of the 20th Century, and his dominance of Europe and in fact the world is clear example of greatness he achieved. For even now people believe he was a God and such a poor and pityful person could not achieve that.

Poland could not have given Riga region back because it was a Latvian territory and not a Polish one. I am not sure what you are talking about. Are you saying about the Klajpeda port region?
Limey, why did not you mention another Polish "crime" i.e. an attack on the Gleivitz(Gliwice) broadcast station just a few days before WWII? It was as "true" as settting the Richstag building on fire by the communists in the thirties.
Germans demanded the ex-territorial "corridor" between the Brandenburg(Berlin) and East Prussia(Koningsberg) in 1939 across Polish lands.
Lord Chamberlain would have been so happy if Poland had yielded! He could have declared again: "I won peace for Europe" like he did in Munich 1938.
But the Polish prime minister Josef Beck had enough guts to refute German claims in his famous speech in the Polish parliament in May 1939.
Hacha (Czech prime min.) was not as bold and Hitler managed to terrorize him (Hitler assured Hacha he would bomb golden Prague) and swallow the Czech Republic. Poland did not save Warsaw, Poland did not save neither Polish ethnic citizens nor Polish Jews but Poland saved her honour.

I did a 7 minute speech on Stalin. Hitler's just his copycat. Stalin reformed Russia, taking it from backwards nation to Super Power. But he killed more than 40 million people in the process. Go to any library (virtually) and you can find an excellent biography on stalin or hitler.

Excuse me, Zyb but I never said Poland was the starter of World War 2. I was saying all that from German point of view. All of which were true reasons for starting the war. Why should I mention the war crimes? I was going up until the War, as I said the 6 years before the war.
I was always saying it from a German point of view and not mine. I never blame Poland for the start, they were right to defend the land.
