The Ukrainian economy grew when Yanukovych was prime minister. It didn't when Yushchenko was prime minister. Since Yushcehnko became president, the Ukrainian economy has slipped. You know, the Polish economy wasn't so great and the Russian one wasn't the complete pits. Therefore, your analogy is somewhat misleading. Russia is on the rise and will be great.
