Russian are extremely proud of their history and no wonder,in times when Russia loses its political significance and all of its former allies ( i am a pole and we never wanted an aliiance with USRR it was enforced on us)are wealthier russians turn to their glorious past.
Glorious?Bah...russian history is a trail of butchery and political crimes. Invasion on Poland, crimes during its occupation,Stalin era and currently barbaric slaughter in chechenya. How can you be proud of a history that consist mainly of slaughtering civilians and armed robberies( Russian wealth during communism came from robbing its satelites of resources and refined goods). So how can you,how dare you be proud of such hideous history? |

I loath Russia as a country and as a nation while having great sympathy for russians as individuals.
Main reason for my dislike is that you guys shoot, steal, meddle with other countries ( vide specnaz in ukraine) and then claim that you are a great nation with great traditions and history. I also dislike that russian nation/goverment does not value people i ve been to Russia and had seen many examples of poverty and humiliation that is unimanigable elsewhere. Plus being a student of international relations i get really steamed off when i hear a russian student saying about his "great" country. Whats so great about it ? It always stole, abused, killed, never respected any kind of freedom, was always ruled by insane tyrants is poor and corrupt... But this thread isnt born from my dislike, this is a genuine question that i never got directly asnwered in real life. How can you be proud of history where blood, crimes and abuse mix into one wonderfull puddle of mud ? ( Btw before i get shot as a russofobe i like russians as individuals as they are sincere nice people and havy many friends among them, russians just dont seem to do well as a nation or a county.) |

You do need to watch CNN friend specnaz WAS seen,no orange hallucinacion.
In chechen discussion i merely forwared facts while you forwarded pure theory and a bit of propaganda,i ve been to Russia 16 times to this date,i know russian history and befriend russians so your claims of me being ignorant are baseless. That you defend your goverment i understand, but i dont see why would you defend it when it commits crimes and is led by a former KGB agent so yes i guess its a russian thing. |

But that's not your style - you make statements based on your world view, you don't bring evidence.

Interesting... The "spetsnaz" thing in Ukraine never really made the front page news, as I recall. Nothing ever came of it, and it was most likely a fabrication of a small segment of the orange party supporters.
Also, many people in the US consider CNN to mean "Communist News Network". I don't look at CNN as an objective news source by any stretch, and don't watch it more than two or three time a year. Jeremi, you can deny it all you like, but you come across as a classic Russophobe. First, you spew hatred for Russia in general. Next, you apologize to those mythical Russians that you think support your view. Then, you offer to carry on a discussion. Let me clue you in. You don't squirt on an entire population in your opening remarks, and then ask them to debate the details in a friendly manner. Both Russia and Poland are proud countries. Both have made their mark on modern civilization in a positive way, and both deserve respect in personal dissent. Where is the respect that you bring to Ru.com? Voyager |
