Constructing the TransSib railroad

In the last decade of the 19th century the Trans Siberian railroad was constructed. I found an interesting website, with a lot of historical pictures, where you can read and see how this gigantic work was completed within 10-15 years.

Downloading will take some time (1.5 MB). I never knew that all the steel for the tracks, most locomotives and freight carriages were bought in the USA.
