These free book samples are safe

I am trying to repost this announcement. It was deleted earlier because someone thought it would be foolish to open an .exe file out of Russia. First of all, I live in St. Louis, Missouri, and the reason I have to use and .exe file is to protect the full versions of these books - PDF files can be copied. I would hate to have someone miss the opportunity of experiencing these books due to a misconception. However, if anyone is uncomfortable viewing the .exe files, please send me an email and I'll email you the PDF file. The original message follows:

If you are interested in Russian culture, you will enjoy these historical novels of talented author, Nikolai Grigorevich Smirnov, who wrote about the Soviet era, as well as the time of the czars, and enabled his readers to relive portions of the never dull history of the Russian people.
Read these books in the original Russian or be among the first to read them in English. Read some sample chapters here:

Nikolai Grigorevich Smirnov's Jack Vosmerkin - The American and The Land of the Sun
Index of /maxmakc/free_samples

Please note that these eBooks are presented in the form of Windows Executable(.exe) files. They are perfectly safe files which allow the user to view sample chapters for free and then buy the book if desired.

Whatever! Even your "samples" are in .exe files. If you were for real, you would have samples in PDF and the entire work in an executable fine. Your samples are zip files that open an exe. Only a fool would open such a file.

Dear Castlestormer, I am new at this whole thing and never realized that .exe files would frighten anyone off. Your lack of trust has been a good lesson for me (if only our children would be so cautious, the predators would be out of business). At any rate, I will try to put those PDF files (or maybe just the sample texts themselves, only I haven't figured out how to get the russian texts to work) on my website as soon as I am able. If after reading a few chapters, one wishes to read more but is afraid to open the .exe file, the book is also available in print. Thanks, again, Castlestormer, but a few of us folks online can actually be trusted...but don't take my word for it...yet.
