I did not present two choices in my previous post so i wonder how you come to the conclusion that the "latter is the more logical of the two choices"?
And even if i had presented the choice of constaninople v. istanbul, i would think most people would agree with you, seeing as constantinople has not existed for some time.
Or, have i been completely mistaken? Do you infact mean that the more logical choice is that they have not given up on Istanbul, rather than abandon constantinople?

I also wonder why you have decided to post on the history forum at this time when you have seemingly not been a frequent contributer to it in the past.
