Police Seize WWII Cannon, Shells in Moscow

Ekho Moskvy - Moscow police have seized a 76-mm World War Two cannon complete with three shells in Moscow. The story began when a 17-year old boy brought home an artillery shell on Monday evening. Police and bomb disposal unit were called on scene by the young man’s parents. Experts established the shell to be a live one and asked the young man where he had got it. The boy led the police to the entrance of a bar on Bolshaya Filevskaya Street. There the operatives found a 76-mm cannon and two more shells. The weapons were composed in some sort of artistic group – the cannon faced the wall, with a picture of a German tank and decorated with barbed wire. The police experts established that the cannon and ammunition were in good working condition. Investigation has been started to establish the owner and origin of the weapons.
