Yangshao Culture, the largest and oldest Chinese civilization occurred in the late period of Neolithic Age about 4,950 to 6,950 years ago. Main sites are located in today's Shanxi and Henan province, the central plain of Northern China. Sketeton study on the ancient inbitants proved that they were the Caucasian race.

Longshan culture, another important ancient Chinese civilization, occured in 4,350 to 3,950 years ago. Main sites are located in today's Shangdong province. I have no knowledge about the race of those ancient people. But according to the DNA study on 2500-year-old inhabitants of Linzi city (the capital of Qi Kindom, The largest city in China at that time. This Kindom's main territory in today's Shangdong province). the Linzi people were Caucasian race. the details: ttp://www.racearchives.com/archived/viewnews.asp?newsID=79998195172

Huangdi is considered to be the founder of Chinese civilization as well as Chinese first ancestor. He lived about 4,000 thousand years ago. Huandi and his tribe came from "the West" and immgrated into the middle valley of the Yellow River. We still have no any clues about the origins of Huangdi and his/her tribes.

Xia Dynasty (21st - 16th century BC), the first dynasty of China history, I have no knowledge about those people.

Shang Dynasty (16th - 11 th century B.C.), the second dynasty of China history, I have post the message about the study on the sketetons of Ancient Shang people above:

There're mainly 3 races who ever were living in Shang Kindom:

1,The first group is racially similar to Buryats, a Mongol-speaking group of Siberia.

2,The second group is racially similar to Eskimos.

3,The third group is racially similar to Papuans, a group of native New Guineans, Australoid.

There're also a little Caucasoid race and many other races who aren't determined which race they belong to.

It seem that it's Shang people who are Mongoloid ( perhaps has some racial links with today's Buryat (Siberians) and Eskimos ), eventually overrun the former kindom of Xia and replaced the original people (Australoid and Caucasian) in China and became the real ancestors.

Of course, More probably it's a chronical course. Zhou, usually was believed to originate from Xi-rong (West Barbarians) who perhaps had some links with ancient Turkic people in West Mongol steppe and Chinese Turkistan, overrun the Shang Kindom and drive Shang towards to the east. People think Korean were the descendant of those shang who escaped towards today's Korea. I think it's logical possible, Today's Korean people look very like Buryats(a Mongol-speaking group ), Most Korean also have round and larger face and small and thin eyes...

Sorry for offtop but you looked rather informed about Asian people. I have a small question about Ainu people. As i know they are the natives of japanese islands but they don't look like Mongoloid. I guess they don't belong to Mongoloid race, am i right? I heard a lot contrdictory legends about their origin in Russia. Are there any myths about them in Asian region?
