DEAR STALIN,

In your earlier posts you said , that you were saddened,
that Stalin did not get recognation. I found something
to cheer you up. O yes, he was kept in great regard.
This did not come from anybody. He was a great leader too.
So let just see, what WINSTON CHURCHIL said in the House
of Commons on the eightieth anniversary of Stalin's birth
in 1959. Remember, it was at the height of the cold war.
" It was Russia's great good luck that in the years of it's
greatest tribulations the country had at it's head a
genius and an unyealding military leader like Stalin."

Well, I hope you are in better mood now. (more to come if
you would like)

BEST REGARDS:VOROSILOV

Vorosilov, I mean not to correct, but was Stalin not born in 1879? This would make his anniversary on 1979, correct?

Thank you voroshilov but in the sense that I mean is how Stalin is not further educated about in schools. Ask a normal westerner and they will be able to tell you who Hitler is and what he did but mention the word Stalin and they will be stumped, that is the sort of recognition Im trying to apply to. Thank you anyway.

yeah- I think that that is sad but true- people are very unaware. I was chatting to someone in english class today and Stalin came up, and my friend turned to me and said -who is Stalin? She didn't even know that he was Russian, and was completely oblivious to the role played by him in WW2. Hitler, on the other hand, has global fame, even if it is for the wrong reasons.

Unhappy Yeah...

Im afraid thats true Judes as many people are unaware that they probably would not have been here today if it wasn't for Stalin and the might of the Soviet Union. I feel it is really unfair that a leader which practically saved Europe from Nazism is not known. While Hitler who tried to destroy Europe is known globally. Western propaganda has completely restricted the history of Russia, when I learned about Stalin in Englis school, they only told of his evil deeds such as the purges while keeping the secret of what he managed to achieve for not only Soviet Russia but the world.
BEST REGARDS,

PS: I'am currently in England on a further education course, if you also live in the United Kingdom there is a great 3 part series on the History channel beginning on Monday at 9pm about Stalin.

I think those who are not aware of who Stalin even was are the extreme cases. I agree with Judes in that many people in the world are historically illiterate.

Even those who are aware of him, 99% know only some bad things about him, and then they close off their minds to any good that he did. It's really ignorant.
