Wassup all, that is to say, Hello. I am a Theater Director/Producer in Philadelphia USA. I am interested in knowing what is happening in Russian Theater. Most of my training in Acting and Directing was base (and not just mine) in Russian technique. I am curious as to what impact the Theater may be having on the "New Russia" anyone with such knowlege please advise. Also any playwrites who wish to submit a ten minute play set in a bar for my monthly evening of short plays, please get in touch.

Your note was interesting. Have you heard of Isabela Grinevskaya? She wrote plays about the Bab and Baha'u'llah, prophets from Persia in the 19th century, which were performed in Russian, in St. Petersburg. I went to Russia in 1991, to help Soviet Baha'is. For more info: www.bahai.org
Stay in touch, Mark Townsend

The theater is, and always has been, a very imprtant part of Russian youth culture. The daily English papers in Moscow have regular listings of recent new productions (Thursday/Friday especially).
Also try the Moscow Tribune and Russia Journal as a starting point of reference (all of which are available on-line).
