Hi.

Last year i was reading a Maxim Gorki's book called 'In the World'.
In the book Gorki use this phrase 'Moscow does not believe in tears'. Why Moscow does not believe in tears?

Sorry about my English.

You have to see the movie ("Moscow doesn't believe in tears").

"Moscow doesn't believe in tears" is an old expression (don't quite know it's origin. Maybe Gorky?) and, to my mind, can be applied to any big capital in the world.

It shows the celebration of urbanization, the ruthlessness and cruelty of the big city where, no matter how hard you cry, nobody will hear you, where, if you are not strong enough, you will be eaten.

Thanks, Buratino and Kalinin, i will see the movie but here, in Brasil, is very hard to find it.
Katy, thanks. I live in a medium city, 1,5 million citizens, and my city does not believe in tears. It is sad.

Cheers

Anderson
