"Moscow doesn't believe in tears" is an old expression (don't quite know it's origin. Maybe Gorky?) and, to my mind, can be applied to any big capital in the world.
It shows the celebration of urbanization, the ruthlessness and cruelty of the big city where, no matter how hard you cry, nobody will hear you, where, if you are not strong enough, you will be eaten. |
