Ahhhhh.... So you did see one of the movies on my list
. I enjoy Dam Busters when I catch it on the TV.I liked the movie Stalingrad. It approaches the conflict from a completely different perspective than does Enemy at the gates, and hammers home the reality of life on the front for German troops during the last days of the battle. There are twists and turns along the way, and the Soviet.... well, just rent a tape or DVD and watch it. I think it is well worth the time, and I'll be waiting to read your take on it after you see it. Voyager |

Pianist is great film. Realistic as you can get about war and jews.
BTW you said, you liked "Enemy at the gates" about the hard working Russian troops. But, hard working Russian troops don't like it. Vets of Stalingrad even sent a letter to Strasbourg court to start the case against the director. Well, you got to see german "Stalingrad" then. It's "must see" one. About the same subject, but without stereotypes. Pure and real war. 10 times better then "Eatg". Russian soldiers speak russian, even without accent(what is rare). It really speaks about quality. ![]() |

Balamut,
I metioned that I like Stalingrad in my last post. I agree that it is far better at describing the situation at Stalingrad than Enemy at the Gates, but as I said earlier, one is about a battle within a battle, while the other tries to depict the overall devastation of that place in war. Voyager |

Voyager , I respect others opinion.
But,man! Eatg suxx! When I watched it I couldn't hold my self on the place from shame and offence. I wanted or to hide somewhere, or crush my TV. I'm glad that you know history well, but for people, who don't ... ohohohhooo..what a shame; on the whole world. |
