Russian Ark
Has anyone seen the film Russian Ark? It's a great film about events in Russian history all filmed in one 90 min take in the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg. If you haven't seen it watch it! Also watch the documentary about the making of it and you will truly appreciate how amazing this film really is.

I have the DVD. It's a wonderful film. I think it's a love it or hate it kind of film though, as when it came out, I mentioned it in a similar thread, and some people threw rocks at me for giving it a thumbs up rating. I still love it though. Very good casting and acting. The orchestral music is fabulous, and the concept of shooting the movie in one, unedited take was a bold and brilliant move.

I guess the people that love car crashes, bullets, and getting the girl in the end will hate it. Those who love Russia but can't travel to St Pete will have their jaw drop. The more one knows about Russian history, the better the film is to watch. I just wish Rasputin was lurking about the Romanovs in the film.
