Hey Disa, I saw End Of Days about a month ago. I thought it was cool too. Lot of special effects and stuff. The fire and explosion effects were really neat. Special effects are getting more real everyday! But I thought it was kind of funny that our friend Arnold beat the Devil with a gun. ~L~ I also thought it was funny that the devil took the form of a banker! End of Days didn't get a very good review in the US, but it was good for a special effects action movie. You should see the new James Bond movie "The World is Not Enough"! That was a great movie! I have no idea how long it takes for US movies to open in Moscow. In England it's like a month difference I think (can't remember). I got a kick out of the role of Russians in this movie too. It was really entertaining. Lots of neat weapons, zooming around in fast boats and cars, beautiful women, and clever humor. My boyfriend and I loved it. We're going to go see it again. |

Movies shown in Russia Sooner then in Denver? I can hardly believe that, but my boyfriend told me this evening that when movies open in the US they can open in Moscow as soon as three days later. Is that true? When I went to visit my cousins in Wales (UK) a couple summers ago I was amazed at how old there new releases were to me (coming from the US). Some of their movies were more then a month behind. Life in the Mile High city is cold right now. We're having freezing winds and snow tonight. Perfect weather for a nice fire in the living room fire place though.
What determines what movies acctually get shown in other countries. I know it's just usually the big ticket pictures, but some countries like France don't like to show lots of American films. They don't want to get Americanized I guess, not that I blame them for that. I imagine the UK wouldn't have a problem importing lots of American movies. How about Russia? That reminds me, I saw the funniest slap stick comedy film in the little Russian grocery store in my neighborhood the other day. I couldn't understand the dialogue, but it was funny. Like the Russian version of the three stooges. I'll have to find out the name of it. |

I think I have an idea about the threesome you'ru refering to. And it is true that in some cases American movies come out in Russia sooner then in their birth place.
Unfortunately russia is absorbing the worst of the Western culture. If youre ever interested in any Russian literature, films, or music you can go to a store wich is located on the conrer of leetsdale and monaco. It's near the big hobby store. The name of the owner is Alexandr, he's very helpful, and attentive. |

Lancelot - How do you know so much about Denver? Do you live here or have you lived here? I don't spend much time in that part of town. I live all the way across the city underneith the foothills. Most of the Russian movies and music I have I got from my boyfriend's father who owns a Russian video store in LA. ~L~ I like the cartoons best. BEAUTIFUL illustration. much better then Disney.
