Question

I always wanted to know how it is like to live in Russia. I'm seriously considering visiting Russia someday. Can anybody who lives there tell me what its like?

Hello.

Life is a rather big area to discuss?!?! What aspects of it in Russia did you want to know about?

I would like to know about the recreational and athletic aspects as well as everyday life. For some reason I am really interested in Russia. It all started after I did a report on the country for my College world civ class. While reading about it I got a strong interest in the country. But I would like to know what Russia is like from a person who lives there point of view.

where do you live now? With what are we comparing Russia?

Assuming you are in the USA, then Russia (if you are looking for a very wide-open description, as it seems?), you could say...

... has a better cultural life, and is less preoccupied with material possessions.

Another way to phrase this is that the standard of living is radically lower, and that if you are not interested in the cultural stuff here there is not a lot (except a wild nightlife) to keep your interest.

This is probably the most vacuous answer I have ever written. If you could be a bit more specific, it would be easier to answer. Imagine someone asked you "what is life like in America?" - could you answer it in two sentences?

I was reading posts in the other sections and you ansewered all the questions I had to ask there. Thanx for the Info, I only have a few more questions.

What major sports are in Russia?

I heard a rumor about american football in Russia, is this true?

Is the KGB as harsh as people say they are, and can you tell me a little bit about them?

Thats all I can think of right now.
