Another moving to Russia thread

This message is mainly aimed at Dr_Woland as he is in a similar situation as to what I intend to be in!

I am British and am looking to move to Russia. Initially for a short period of say 3 - 6 months, but maybe later on a more permanent move might be on the cards.

I currently work as a self employed web designer and am looking to do the same thing from Russia, but because my Russian is someone limited at the moment, I'm looking to continue doing Web design work for my current clients and any future ones. What I'm really wanting to know at this stage is am I allowed to work like this (I can't see why not), and what is the situation regarding taxes, etc. Surely if I'm living and using Russian services then I should be paying Russian taxes, so how would I go on in this situation?

I just have no idea about this sort of thing at the moment.
