Would anybody be interested in having a bit of teaching experience in Izhevsk, Russia, let me know.

That would involve teaching English at the English evening courses, up to 15 hours a week and additionally teaching almost any classes (if
one feels like doing it) at a regular Junior/Junior High School. Can be anything from PE to Physics... (Done in English or any other major language, just let me know which!)

The time one can or wants to start up all this is negotiable. Almost anytime is fine. One up to a few month stay is possible.

We will provide you with room (homestay) and board (nothing too fancy, but the basic needs will certainly be covered), forward you your visa
support papers (all expenses paid), help you arrange your travel around, in, from Russia in the most economical way possible, assist
you with itinerary and transportation advice.

We will be happy to see you on our outdoor and bicycle trips too. No extra money paid for that, just the regular contribution, everyone makes up to the trip expenses.

I would be delighted to volunteer for this, do you have anymore information as of yet? I speak basic russian, but have access to many russian coaches, therefore could learn quickly. I am an amatuer skater who was trained under Russian principles of PhysEd, and wish to share my knowledge. Cpacibo Bolshoe!

teaching in izhevsk

Dear Julia
My wife and I will retire in Spring of 2002. We want to explore Russia. I have an advanced college degree and could teach any of several subjects in High School. I have been teaching at the community college level. Teaching in exchange for hospitality would dovetail nicely with our plans. We could arrange to be in Izhevsk sometime during the Summer of 2002. We do not speak nor read Russian but look forward to becoming fluent over the years.

Thumbs down Scam

This program has been correctly identified as a scam on other bulletin boards where it has been advertised.

The following link has the most important facts about the scam:

Note to Vladimir Bykov: I'm happy your accusation of calling me a liar has goaded me into finding other places where you advertise your program. I will add this one to my watch list to insure that anyone browsing this forum will be adequately warned in the future.

No scam!

I'm not sure why the program has been labeled a scam (the link mentioned is in error). Less than one week ago, I returned from Izhevsk from the volunteer program set up by Svezhy Veter!

The experience was incredible, and I'd recommend it to those with an open mind. One thing I have learned in my travels to Russia is that Americans and Russians have often very different ways with dealing with various situations. What's considered polite in one country may not be so in the other! And learning about new cultures and customs is part of what made my trip so valuable.

I'll be glad to share any of my experiences or photographs with anyone who may be interested.

Sincerely,

Jennifer
