Question

The Russian singer Alsu will represent her country in the Eurovision - 2000 song contest. I know that the Eurovision festival is extremely popular in Europe but in the US noone knows about it. Why is it so?

I suppose it's not known in the US because it's European, so they have no interest in it, which is a shame as some good songs have come out of it.
Russia did really well this year too! Congrats...!

Maybe because they are people of taste and culture? :-) Eurovision is one of the most terrible things on TV the whole year! In the UK (where I come from) they show it with deliberately mocking commentary saying how terrible it is, how awful the costumes are, etc.

"Nul points", in my view :-)
